Start the process by emailing or contacting the Ottumwa Virtual Learning Registration Center at welcome@ottumwaschools.com or (641) 684-6559 with your Open Enrollment Paperwork if you reside outside of the Ottumwa Community School District and live elsewhere in the State of Iowa.

When can I register my student?
New student registration is open year-round for Ottumwa Virtual Learning. Returning students will need to complete an annual update of information starting the second Wednesday of July each year.
 

Where do I go to register a new student?
If you are a new parent to Ottumwa Virtual Learning, please visit our school registration website and follow the step-by-step guidelines under "New Student."
 

I already have a student in Ottumwa Virtual Learning (OVL) and want to register an additional student. Where do I go?
To register an additional student, please follow the "New Student" guidelines on the school registration website page.
 

What if I don’t remember my PowerSchool Parent Portal username or password?
School staff will be available to assist, or you can email welcome@ottumwaschools.com for support.
 

Registration is asking me to upload proof of address, proof of legal age and name, and immunization records. What if I don’t have a scanner?
You can upload a readable picture of each document using your phone. If this is not possible, these documents can be brought to the Welcome Center.

  • Proof of Address: Shows that the student resides within the state of Iowa. Acceptable items include utility bills, lease agreements, insurance bills, etc. (photo accepted).
  • Proof of Legal Age and Name: Provides confirmation of the student’s age and legal name.
  • Immunization Records: Must include the child's full name, date of birth, vaccine details, dates given, and a physician’s signature.

Are there any fees or costs for enrolling in Ottumwa Virtual Learning?
Families enrolling in Ottumwa Virtual Learning will not incur any fees or costs associated with enrollment. All required educational resources are provided at no charge.
 

Earning Credits and Academic Support
As an Ottumwa Virtual Learning student, you can earn high school credits while benefiting from a flexible schedule and support from certified teachers.
